Do you think it would work to use crystallized ginger instead of the regular ginger, with a reduction in sugar? I bought a bunch during my first trimester but found other things more helpful for nausea. Also congratulations!
I haven't tried it before, so I can't say for sure. It might not be as punchy, since the crystalized ginger has already been heated. But since you've got it on hand it's totally worth trying out. I'd recommend reducing the sugar to 3/4 cup
Loved the durian episode and the time delay explains the frozenness! Our markets are over flowing with ripe durian right now, so this timing is very inspiring! ♥️
And I'm SO SO SO excited for this iced chai. I'm going to make it as soon as I've finished the next batch of hummingbird food (my other "simple syrup" in the summer).
thank you for this recipe, I have been craving iced chai lately! How long can you keep the concentrate around?
About a week!
Would you ever use ctc assam here?
Asking because I have some I need to use 😅
Yes, that would be awesome here!
Can't wait to try the recipe! Would it work with tea bags? And if so how many should I use? Leaves aren't that easy to find where I live. Thank you!
I tried it and lost a lot of liquid to the bags themselves. I recommend opening the bags up and measuring the leaves until you have 1/2 cup
Crazy question, does this call for green cardamom or black cardamom?
Green cardamom!

Congratulations Sohla and Ham 🫶🥳🎊
Any advice for making a double batch? Same amount of tea or less?
Congratulations!
